A PRACTICE THAT CROSSES MEDIUMS
I like making things
feel considered
I'm Lee Saenz, a senior product designer based in Mobile, Alabama. I've worked on software for farm operators, music students and teachers, and products of my own design and development.
Before joining Televox, I ran my own design agency for years. I then moved to Boulder, Colorado, to work at Active Interest Media. While there, I enrolled at Full Sail University, carrying a full-time course load while working full time. I continued both after joining MakeMusic and completed my bachelor's degree in 2017, finishing in two and a half years rather than four.
At PTx, I created and lead Canopy, FarmENGAGE's design system. I own its visual direction, automation and delivered packages. Our team owns FarmENGAGE's overall visual direction. This has meant making decisions on how a product should behave, making them valuable to others, and continuing to support as it becomes working software.
Earlier, I contributed to the modern web SmartMusic's creation. Its Practice App and classroom workflows involved thinking of a single recording, a student's next assignment and a teacher reviewing a whole class. I continue to enjoy the motion between a small interaction and the larger product surrounding it.
My background includes writing code. It allows me to understand the implementation choices and work closely with engineers. On my products, I use AI agents to move from design into development and verification.
Aftertake, Phantom and Nukemichi allow me to explore a variety of problems. The common thread is practical: understand what someone is trying to do, keep the important context visible and make the next decision easier.
